5 Things you'll never know about toddlers until you have them
1) Amazing ability to repeatedly watch the same video again and again and again, and then again to infinity...without getting bored. Even when the movie has been sandblasted onto Mummy's neurons, it still holds the same thrill for them
Sure you've heard this from friends, but you never really realise the extent of it. Troy's obession is now the Incredibles. He can actually watch the whole movie 3 times a day. When stopped as his TV limit is 1-2 hrs a day, he often throws a huge tantrum. Just seeing a magazine with an ad of the Incredibles DVD is enough to keep him enraptured for some time.
2) They prefer to play with things that don't look like toys
So why do they make toy phones big and colorful, the kids know its not the real thing and will go in search of real phones to use! why can't toy manufacturers make toys that look like the real thing (but safer)???
3) Sleep like a baby is the most misleading simile that exists
Nuff said for all the sleep deprived parents out there
4) They can learn how to operate the DVD better than adults
In this case, necessity is the driving force. Train of thought: "Since mummy won't let me watch too much TV, I'd better observe carefully how to operate the DVD on my own. hee hee hee". Troy at 1-1/2 yrs old could roughly operate the DVD player.
5) They have the strangest sense of humour
Toddlers don't laugh at jokes. But they chortle at the oddest things, like Troy has gone into spasms of laughter at dusting the sofa, at the phrase "Ngak Ngak wu Ngak Ngak". Once the moment is gone, the once amusing action is no longer funny anymore.
